Our Work
| Our work at Harapan Rainforest is made up of four main activities: |
|
FOREST PROTECTION - We have over 130 forest patrol staff who continually monitor Harapan Rainforest to protect it from further degradation. Forest patrols are also trained to respond to any fire outbreaks within the forest area. |
| FOREST RESTORATION - The forest restoration team is responsible for seed collection, management of the nurseries, growing and monitoring trees, planting saplings in selected forest plots and undertaking inventories. |
| RESEARCH AND CONSERVATION - The conservation and research team is responsible for surveying and monitoring the biodiversity of Harapan Rainforest and helping to inform and support the forest restoration activities. |
|
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT - This team works with the communities who live within and around Harapan Rainforest. It supports their sustainable use of the forest area and works with them to identify and create new sustainable livelihood opportunities for them. |
